Many people enjoy drinking fresh juices as a way to improve their health, and there is a good reason why. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are loaded with essential nutrients which makes them an ideal tool for everyone who wants to boost immunity, improve the diet and keep the overall health in tip-top shape.

Juices from fresh fruits and vegetables are loaded with amazing substances that work together in synergy. Only nature has a way of putting groups of nutrients together that complement each other and when consumed, these work synergistically to repair, to cleanse and to heal the body.

The vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals found in plants are essential to all cells and tissues in the body. Besides keeping your entire system in its most optimal functioning condition, the nourishing essentials you get from fresh produce may help to cleanse and detoxify the body and counterbalance the negative effects of free radicals, or the by-products of all metabolic functions in the body.

Juices from fresh fruit and vegetables are rich in minerals, such as Potassium, Iron, Calcium, Magnesium and Manganese. Naturally, human bodies cannot make minerals, so you need to get them from the diet. Minerals regulate blood pressure, keep teeth and bones strong, maintain heartbeat, keep electrolytes and fluid balance, and prevent any kidney, digestive and nervous function disorders.

Vitamins C, A and E found in fresh produce are vital to fundamental processes such as growth, reproduction and tissue repair, and are excellent antioxidants which may help your body to slow down the aging process. You can also get a reasonable amount of Folate from fresh juices which is important for brain and hormonal function. Other natural hormones, phytochemicals and natural antibiotics found in nature's bounty have shown a promising effect in lowering the risk of osteoporosis, cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Juicing Tips
  • When searching for a fruit and vegetable juicer, choose one that is going to give you the most juice possible. A juicer that will eject the pulp outside the juicing machine will give less juice than the juicers that will keep the pulp in the basket. If you have large pieces of produce, you should always chop them first.
  • Fresh juice tastes best and is most nutritious when the juice is at its peak – freshly squeezed and poured right from your juicer. Juice can be left refrigerated over night, but it takes away from the freshness, the flavour. Additionally, the nutrients are easily destroyed when you expose your juice to light and even mild heat. If you must store your juice, do so right away in a small, tightly-closed dark glass jar in the refrigerator.
  • The best choices to start with are carrot and apple juice. Juicing watermelons is another great addition to the carrot/apple juice combination as these have a lot of liquids and work very well for liver cleansing. Green juices work well with a tomato base making them much more appetising and less challenging for your digestive system. Certain fruits like bananas and avocadoes are not easy to juice because they don’t retain very much water. I recommend adding mineral or clear water to the mix if the juice is too strong and concentrated.
