Can't sleep? Smell some jasmine, not lavender! Researchers have found that the soothing scent of jasmine helps promote a more peaceful sleep and a fresher morning. Even though the pleasant smell of lavender produced some similar effects to the smell of jasmine, but the results were not quite as noticeable. People who slept in a room infused with jasmine appeared to sleep more peacefully – and report higher levels of alertness the following afternoon – than those who spent the night in a lavender-scented room or in a room without an added scent.
And although all of the study's participants slept the same amount each night, the people in the jasmine-scented rooms reported feeling less anxiety when they woke up. You can use any kind of products that contain jasmine for a good night's sleep - soap, lotion, shampoo, potpouri, candles. The best option is jasmine essential oil - either add it to the oil burner to scent the room, or massage a few drops on your temples and under your ears.
