Healthy Eating
Image

Even if you don't give your food too much thought, your health starts in the kitchen. The famous saying "You are what you eat" is best emphasized by the Hippocrates statement: "Let the food be your medicine, and the medicine be your food". There is a lot of information around about the 'proper' or 'good' diet, but not too many of us really know what it means. Healthy eating requires some knowledge and planning. It is more than simply following a certain diet, which may lead to malnutrition if the siggested meal plan is not well-rounded and balanced and includes a wide variety of all food groups in the right proportions, has a full range of vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and water. This section is your teaching guide how to stay healthy by making good nourishing choices in the store, kitchen, restaurant, and at the table.

  • Supplements  ( 36 items )
    Image

If you are young and healthy, you probably rarely think of taking dietary supplements. You may consider that your diet is healthy enough, but vegetables and dairy food can only be as good as the soil in which they are grown and many farmers will agree that their soil is worn out. And when you get sick, the search for a quick-fix pill or any kind of dietary supplement may begin too late. No dietary supplement can provide eternal youth or perfect health, but with the assiduous use of vitamins and minerals and balanced nutritious diet, you can often achieve optimum health for your age and certainly ease the symptoms of many potential and existing diseases. Dietary supplements can be divided into two main types; nutritional, (vitamins and minerals and amino acids) and botanical (herbal types).
